“The question that makes sense to ask is: Is your life working for you… You can only expect a fulfilling life if you dedicate yourself to finding out who you are.” -Stephen Cope

Become your true self — Live your authentic life

Life is too special to not know who you are and what you are here to offer.

Living a life that lacks meaning and purpose is depressing. Don’t just distract yourself through life.

You were born for a reason!

In order to become your true self you have to know who you are and what you are here to offer.

But there’s a problem…

  • Have you ever found yourself lying in bed in the middle of the night wondering, “What the heck am I doing with my life?”

  • Have you ever thought seriously about it and taken action instead of just letting these thoughts continue to cause you to become even more sleep deprived?

Quest for Your True Self is a transformational opportunity that guides one through an initiation to help them live their authentic life and reconnect to who they really are.

Participating in this process allows the participant to discover their purpose, bring forth their gifts and live the life they are meant to live.

This is your chance to get back in alignment with who you really are and what you are here to offer in this world.

Align with your true nature!

“There comes a time when one must risk everything or sit forever with one’s dreams.”-Trevor Peterson

During our time together you will read soul provoking books, build community and be introduced to transformational practices with the intention of helping you live your authentic life.

By participating in a three phase initiatory process you will have the opportunity to let go of what no longer serves you. In doing so it will clear space for whatever wants to come to fruition seeding your authentic future.

Along with the recommended readings, topic discussions, transformational practices, Quest for Your True Self offers Nature-Connected Coaching to assist and guide you towards becoming your true self.  As for a bonus you will be introduced to your archetypal nature by having your birth chart interpreted from a soul revealing perspective.

Program structure

The First Phase: Separation/Severance

“The world was made to be free in: this we know in our bones, and this definitive and fearful knowledge is what both supports us and requires us to turn away from our secure but less-than-joyful lives.” Bill Plotkin

During severance (Phase one of initiation) one lets go of their ties to old habits, views and ways of being in life that no longer serve them.

Set sail from the island of security, loosen your grip on what keeps you small. The winds of truth and new opportunity are sure to guide you to what you already know.

Module 1: Mapping your story

  • Connect with others through brief introductions

  • Look at the big picture, 3 stages of initiation and the importance

  • Defining severance and suggestive practices to facilitate it

  • Map your life experiences displaying major events

  • Learn a simple yet important everyday connection practice

Reading discussion themes:

  • The value of listening

  • How and here to look for your purpose- Crossroads

  • Genius defined

  • What is Soul

  • 4 Pillars of dharma

Module 2: Revealing your myth and cutting ties

  • Express your life map to everyone

  • Explore other ways of how to identify your personality/ essence

  • Your Golden Shadow

  • How friends describe you

  • Kairos moment

  • Pre-history of Soul

  • Myth vs. Logos

  • Passion

  • Body Symptoms

  • Reflection activity: Discern your myth from your map, what is your underlying theme?

The second Phase: Threshold

“Once you cross the threshold, you will never be the same. That is a fact.” ― Kamal Ravikant

A threshold experience is where the ‘Third thing’ or the ‘Aha moment’ arises into your awareness and you receive the wisdom you are seeking.

Before entering this luminous state you will become clear and set an intention to guide you through this nonlinear and ‘Outside of’ time period.

The threshold is like sailing across the sea of great mystery while your sails are like your intention keeping on track.

Module 3: Intention setting

  • Dive into the threshold experience background

  • Prepare for the threshold (What do you need, how does it look, how I will help)

  • Set your intention

  • Reflection activity: Identify what societal, family and personal expectations no longer serve you in becoming your true self. Ponder what is the spine of your dharma?

Readings highlights:

  • Creating the right conditions [for your dharma]

  • Devotion to one's work

  • Unification practice & true self importance

  • defining success

  • Eaglet story

Module 4: The Aha moment

  • Experience your threshold experience

  • Receive the wisdom you are seeking

  • Reflection activity: Illustrate your threshold experience in mandala form

Readings highlights:

  • Letting go of the outcome

  • Embracing difficulties

  • Holding the tension

  • Wounds and gifts

  • To become irreplaceable

  • Starborn

The Third Phase: Integration

“To be nobody-but-yourself — in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else — means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.” – E.E. Cummings.

Integration is where you take the wisdom gained in the threshold experience and integrate it into your life. Returning to and facing society with a new perspective on being one’s true self can be both enlightening and daunting.

To stay in alignment with your true self you will need to have a plan and (another) intention on how to carry out your vision.

Module 5: Integrate your wisdom

  • Share your experience

  • Clarify and write your purpose statement

  • Review and identify your gift(s)

Readings highlights:

  • Staying connected to your dharma/ true self

  • Deciphering the will of something greater than yourself

  • Metaphors & imagination

  • Awareness of incompleteness

  • Genuine individuality

Module 6: Bringing it all together and moving forward

  • Discuss delivery vehicles to bring forth your gifts

  • I am the founder of Metolius Basin Institute. I understand and know what it feels like to live a life that is out of alignment with your true self.

It started when I found myself in a relationship that did not serve me yet I was committed to it while suffering the consequences of not following what my soul desired.

The truth was I wasn't quite sure who I was or what I needed in order to be in alignment with my soul's original intent.

When I found myself in that relationship/situation I faced difficulties daily. The universe took all of the opportunities it could to mirror back to me my lack of alignment with my true self. The struggles were reflected in my dreams, chronic body aches/pains and the “Characters” unfolding in my daily drama along with stress and bouts of depression. My suffering made me feel as though I was off course and offending the gods/goddesses.

I had fallen into the trap of being conditioned and influenced by family and society while deviating from who I truly was and my own unique path. I gravitated towards the ‘security’ of what I thought or perceived relationships and jobs could offer while learning later the only sense of security we have is a false sense of one. When I learned that I was taken back and eventually that particular relationship ended.

Through my own grief process and my journey towards wholeness I discovered tools and practices along the way that helped me align with my true self. By pursuing a masters in ecopsychology/human development and becoming a Nature-Connected Coach/Transformational Wilderness Guide I learned how to create a safe container to assist clients in discovering their own truth while navigating their issues.

I transformed my wound of loss/grief into a gift by founding Metolius Basin Institute with a vision of helping others on their own healing journeys while now equipped with empathy, wisdom and practical tools. I am here to offer transformational education so people can discover who they really are and what they are meant to offer in this life. It is not learning something new about ourselves but rather (re)membering who we were originally intended to be.

Some of my biggest influences include the answers I have received from wandering in nature, paying attention to my dreams and studying Shamanic Astrology. One of my biggest epiphanies is that the universe has the ability to reflect back to us our current situation or whatever we may be experiencing in life. By being present and paying attention to the signs around us we have the opportunity to gain a lot of wisdom and insight.

When I am not coaching or facilitating people’s transformation in a formal setting I am working seasonally as a backpack guide. I have accumulated nearly 1000 days of professionally guiding individuals through the mountains and deserts of the western U.S. and internationally in Patagonia and Nepal.

Nepal holds a special place in my heart. After spending time wandering the streets of Kathmandu and trekking among the highest peaks in the world, it became obvious that I would spend a lifetime returning and deepening my connection to the mystical country. I have returned multiple times to Nepal where the people and the mountains first broadened my horizons and changed my perspective on life. It is one of the best places in the world for a personal quest due to the culture, landscape, breathtaking views and the way the prayer flags flutter in the wind.

“Our real job in life is to become our true selves in such a way that we are seen as irreplaceable. To become nobody but your true self and to struggle against the tide of sameness and the false security of simply fitting in is a fight worth having... The most useful thing in the world is to know who you are at the core of your life and what you are intended to serve in this world.” -Michael Meade
